At Kindred Journey Veterinary End-of-Life Care, we understand how difficult it can be to make the decision to say goodbye to an aggressive pet. Behavioral euthanasias are often among the most challenging experiences for everyone involved, and we approach these situations with compassion and seriousness.
If your pet has shown aggression and requires end-of-life care, please reach out so our veterinarian can discuss the situation with you in detail. While our veterinarian may be able to assist with behavioral euthanasia, a thorough discussion is necessary to determine if our services are the right fit. For safety reasons, our veterinarian must be able to safely administer sedatives before the euthanasia procedure. Since our doctor works without a technician or assistant, pet parents must be able and willing to restrain their pet during exams and procedures as needed. Unfortunately, not every aggressive pet will be a suitable candidate for our services.
In cases involving aggressive pets, a variable aggressive pet fee will apply to account for the extra time, medications, and precautions required. For more details about this fee, please refer to our Service page.
If you are seeking an in-home hospice appointment for an aggressive pet, please contact us to determine if a home visit is possible. The severity of your pet’s aggression will influence our doctor's ability to safely and thoroughly examine them. In these cases, you must be able to muzzle and safely restrain your pet. If this is not feasible, seeking care from another provider may be a better option.
At Kindred Journey Veterinary End-of-Life Care, we focus exclusively on providing compassionate end-of-life care for pets. This includes hospice and palliative care, and in-home euthanasia.
While we are unable to provide services like wellness exams, vaccinations, or diagnostic workups for illnesses, we are here to support families navigating end-of-life decisions and ensuring their pets are as comfortable as possible during this time. If your pet requires a diagnostic work-up or treatment for a condition unrelated to end-of-life care, we recommend contacting your regular veterinarian for those services.
